Socket Sense expands and collapses, accommodates bulkiest wall warts

socketsense.jpg

While we're big fans of the PowerSquid surge protector, here's another approach that also makes sense, appropriately named Socket Sense. Not only does its outlets expand to accommodate those pesky wall-wart power adapters, the receptacles are also situated at a 45-degree angle to keep the hefty plugs out of each others' way.

This might be a good idea for travelers who don't want to deal with the bulk of the PowerSquid — Socket Sense collapses to a road-friendly size, perfect for packing your electronic entourage on the go. Too bad it seems so overpriced at just shy of $40.
