If you just had an ultra-thin voice recorder in your pocket all the time, think of all the things you’d avoid forgetting. Just whisper a reminder into this credit card-sized digital device’s 6.5-millimeter thinness, and your faulty human memory is backed up all electronic-like. Plus, the embedded USB plug makes it easy to transfer everything over to your PC. But then you'll need to remember to listen to your reminders, so we're looking around for a gadget to do that.
Meanwhile, its 1GB flash memory is enough to record a boatload of your ramblings (69 hours' worth of .wav files), or hey, you might even find some other interesting uses for it such as interviewing important celebrities or eavesdropping on that cheating spouse of yours. Not that we would recommend such things, neither the philandering nor bug-planting. You decide, but its easily concealed compact size and equally minuscule price ($70) might tempt you.

I've never been one for recording things, but this looks so good and easy to use... Anything that doesn't come with an extra USB cable I can lose gets extra points from me.

I actually got one two days before this article went up. it's pretty sturdy over all but the casing on the back can get hairline cracks pretty easy. the quality is amazing and it works well with my lappy, but the interface on the card itself is a bit confusing, using two lights with very little difference in color, both using either red or orange to try and convey complex thoughts like 'recording,' 'playing,' and 'next track'. I can't imagine trying to get this thing to play MP3's, or why you would want to; the speaker is more a necessity for a voice recorder than a useful tool. I'm glad you legitimized it, too, because from the packaging, the odd brand name, and the insistence on displaying a cheap 'made in taiwan' stamp (which rubbed off, thankfully) and equally cheap stickers declaring it's 1 gig capacity felt like something fished out of a bin at a hokey souvenir shop in New York.
