Quetzalcoatl Nest: fantastic cross between house, snake and bird

quetzalhouse1.jpg

After Arquitectura Organica's Javier Senosiain created his organically-inspired Nautilus House, he's done it again, this time with a wild design that looks like a serpent in repose. Quetzalcoatl Nest, named after the Aztec snake/bird god of learning and knowledge, snakes around a 12.36-acre lot, and the architect planned the house's shape to be sure no trees were removed.

Built mostly above ground with a few subterranean rooms and passageways, this dwelling is currently home to some lucky and daring occupant, living in harmony with nature while navigating the house’s undulating floor plan. We're not sure what they're smoking down there in Mexico, but whatever it is, it should be given to all the other architects.
