iC Hexapod: portrait snappin' spider 'bot attracts hundreds at the Monster Mash
iC-at-the-Monster-Mash.jpgMatt Denton's fabulous iC Hexapod hobby robot is no stranger to us here at DVICE, and he gave us the scoop on the 'bot's most recent outing to the Monster Mash gallery in London, a collection of personal artwork from the minds behind the United Kingdom's creature special effects industry. iC's sleek spider-like curves fit right in, and it was able to really test out its photography skills — stare at iC's face long enough and it'll take your picture and upload it to its site. The 'bot managed to come away from the event with a rogue gallery of its own, taking over 800 pictures over the two days of the event and logging 19 hours of operation without a hitch.

Matt Denton is the company manager of Micromagic Systems, which provides animatronics, puppet control systems and robotic goodness to film and television industry, including blockbusters like the Harry Potter movies.
