Pedal-powered snowplow is greener than most sit-down models

kev-on-plow_v2.JPG

Hate plowing snow? Love biking? This pedal-powered snowplow made from a lawnmower chasis and a shovel could be the solution for you. It's certainly not as easy to use as this Roomba-style plow, but then, the only power it uses is from your legs, making it easy on your electricity and gas bills.

On first glance, this contraption looks like it's one inch from falling apart. But its designer, Kevin Blake, is an engineer at bicycle-maker Trek. That means that it probably works and that if we're lucky we may see more of them in the future.
