Nokia's N96 gives us phone envy
Nokia has just announced its new N96 superphone, a beauty of a device that, while loaded with features, probably won't make it here to the states without losing some of its best goodies. It's got a 2.8-inch screen, 16GB of internal memory, and backlit touch buttons that can change their appearance depending on what functions they control.
It also has a built-in DVB-H receiver that can pick up digital TV signals in Europe and Asia, a function that would be pretty worthless here where nobody broadcasts those signals. And with speedy 3G access unlikely for it here in the states as well, the $800 pricetag seems kind of tough to justify. But for people living in Europe and Asia, you just got a new toy to drool over.
