Biosfera luminous vase draws attention to your gorgeous house plants

Those inventive Italians have dreamed up another unusual design, this time in illuminated flowerpots to light up your life. Biosfera is ready to accommodate any plant, and if you put cool-running compact fluorescent bulbs inside, your plants might like their lit-up lifestyle just fine.
Yeah, those plants might get a bit optically confused if you leave their built-in lamp on all night, but then maybe that will make them grow faster. All this high style comes at a price, though — the smaller 9-inch table-sized model will cost you $455, while the larger 18.5-incher is $1085.

At $455, the flower pot is much brighter than the schmuck who buys it.
I could make a version of this for $25 using an Ikea lamp, flowerpot and some LEDs. Drainage for the plant would be an important factor to consider though. I'll have to think about that bit for a minute.

It would be much cheaper to buy the $22 lit planter the Brits are selling, and it even comes in different colors...
