A half-million dollar watch for the rich and foolish
zerog.jpgWhat makes a watch worth $500,000? In some cases, it's just because its loaded up with diamonds or other valuable materials. But if there's no bling on the watch, what can possibly make it worth half a million dollars? Anything? I say no, there is absolutely nothing that can make a watch worth that much.

Those behind the Zenith El Primero Zero-G Multi-Dimensional Tourbilon would probably disagree, however, as that's exactly how much it costs. Looking like the kind of watch your outdoorsy gym teacher would wear, it certainly looks like it's got a lot going on. It's gravity resistant! And water resistant! Also, it tells the time, one assumes! OK, I stand corrected; totally worth it.

Most high-end watches are things of beauty, but this is tackiness in the extreme. It blows my mind that any self-respecting watchmaker would print something as cheesy as "gravity resistant" on the face. All tourbillon watches are gravity resistant, and tourbillons are used by all high-end watchmakers. Aside from that, this thing is just ugly.

So it floats in mid-air??

How ironic! I'm pretty sure that if you can afford a $.5M watch, you probably don't really ever need to know what time it is.

This is a concept, other than that, only a multi bilionaire, like those from dealing with drugs in Colombia, would afford or have the taste for such a piece of extremely ugliness.
