When it comes to vehicles from famous movies, they don't get too much cooler than James Bond's Lotus convertible that can also function as a submarine. Unfortunately, the very idea of a convertible submarine is nonsensical, so we'll probably never see it in real life. Or will we?
We will! Check out this Rinspee sQuba! It's a convertible that's also a submarine! You need to wear scuba masks attached to the built-in air tanks to drive it underwater, but how badass is this? In addition, it's a zero-emissions vehicle, running on a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, so you can pretend to be a secret agent without wrecking the environment. That's it, I'm sold. Where do I sign?

Jeeez...You'd think a sports car would go a little faster underwater. Those little props in the back need to be replaced with water jets.

Bad ass? How the heck is this bad ass? Humanity NEEDS a car/submarine as much as we NEED a space station on the moon or another hole in our heads. This is yet another distraction from real progress: a waste of time, money, and resources.

Actually, I think this might have some practical uses is places where tropical reefs are a natural resource. What a great way to have tourists not only take the scenic route around the seashore but just drive right off into the water to see the wonders beneath the waves. It might also come in handy for those who have a tendency to drive off bridges. Could save lives.

First the Tesla EV, now this - I wonder if Lotus foresaw how versatile their Elise would become?

Salt-water, or just freshwater, and all those batteries, what a recipe for an underwater bar-b-que.

G,day hope you are all well, I saw in the news a contraption that now uses an F1-11 jet cox-pit and has the abilities of a boat, submarine, racing and flying machine all together. This craft is powered by water jet engines and has small wings. It reaches very high speeds and can dive deep under the water turn up and race at speed till it breaches the surface and then glides back down to the waters surface to speed along like a boat. Fully fast entertainment.
