Voltaic solar briefcase may not be a looker, but it can charge

generator-silver.jpg

Voltaic Systems has been in the solar bag business for quite some time, but one of the only prior downsides is the inability to charge a laptop with a backpack's solar panels. The Generator is the latest in Voltaics line of solar accessories and this time, it can charge a laptop.

The Generator is more of a briefcase than a bag or backpack, but it's extensive amount of solar panels can whip up 14.7 watts of juice on a sunny day, which happens to be just enough to recharge a laptop throughout the day.

Other internal features include a battery that will always be charged and ready for a gadget or laptop to be plugged in. And continuing with the whole Green theme, the briefcase is constructed out of recycled material. The Voltaic Generator is available for $600 in four different colors.
