Turning Lamp: the PC on a stick

Turning-Lamp-Seungchan-Lee.jpg

I often look at my lamp with a frown on my face wishing it did just a little more. Sure, it brings me light when the sun's gone, but that's it. If only it also had the functionality of a — hold on a sec, let me take a toss at the ol' Idea Dartboard — ah, a PC!

The Turning Lamp, designed by Seungchan Lee, is just that. It's a block equipped with four touchscreens mounted on a lamp post that changes what information is displayed at the pull of the chord. Want a weather update, see a stock ticker, check your email or play music? Just pull the chord and it'll pop up one of the screens, and then you use either the wireless keyboard, attached stylus or your fingers to do what you need to do.

Doesn't look like it works very well as a lamp, though.
