The Flying Stick photographs you from above
There are a metric ton of digital cameras out there, but practically none of them deviate from the standard formula. They're all basically the same, save some slight adjustment in specs and maybe a couple negligible features. Not so with the Flying Stick Camera.
Sure, it's not the most practical camera in the world, and you aren't going to replace a traditional camera with it, but it'll take some pretty unique shots that no normal camera could get. Made to be tossed in the air, it spins around and slowly floats to the ground, snapping pictures the whole way. It comes with automatic face-detection software built-in, so it knows just when to take pictures to get the best results. It looks pretty cool, and we're hoping that it becomes more than just a concept and steps into reality at some point. Hit the jump to see some examples of pictures the Flying Stick Camera would make.

Estes model rockets used to have a model called the "Camrock" that had a single-shot camera in the nose cone. I would fly up a couple of hundred feet and take an arial picture of the neighborhood.
But how many arial pictures of your neighborhood could you use?

It looks interesting, but I don't see it used more than a couple of times. Like Panjandrum said, you'd get bored of similar pictures. But I'd sure like to play with it for a while.

This is pretty cool, I must admit; still, I think that flying pigs are cooler.
