Pirkus Robot has an eye for humans, if you can build it

pirkusrobot1.jpg

Although the Pirkus-R Type-01 DX from Robot Labs doesn't look particularly huggable, as you can see in the photo above, chicks dig the Pirkus. With a nickname straight out of a college frat movie, the Pirkus is actually a robotics kit that requires you to actually prove your geek cred by building this cool companion from scratch.

Once assembled, the Pirkus is designed to recognize the faces of particular humans in a crowd. The robot can also be controlled via Bluetooth cell phone and the little guy even takes photos. But jumping the Pirkus into your social set won't be cheap, the kit runs 249,800 yen ($2,299) here.

The Pirkus is cool but my favorite is the Manoi AT01. It is equal too or a little better in some areas. It is also about 1,000.00 dollars less. I have a humanoid robot and no hot Asian chicks are knocking on my door. I wish that would happen but I think you are dreaming a geek dream.
