PeanutBot, the autonomous audio homing robot

The PeanutBot is a sound-seeking robot that ended up helping a team of three programmers finish their course in microcontrollers at Cornell University. PeanutBot listens to the space around it by using three microphones and, by measuring the amount of time it takes a noise to hit all three of its "ears," the 'bot is able to triangulate the origin of the sound. It'll then turn and move toward the direction of the sound without any sort of guidance from a remote controller.
The programmers were also smart with their funds. PeanutBot only cost them $361 to put together, which includes the $325 BrainStem PPRK autonomous robot kit they used for PeanutBot's body.
