Macworld 2008: Pro AKG headphones coming to a home near you

AKG concert pic fixed.jpg

This crummy picture was taken with an iPhone (the battery in my regular crummy P&S camera died) at a semi-private concert featuring former Styx vocalist/guitarist Tommy Shaw (right) and former Night Ranger bassist/vocalist Jack Blades (left) sponsored by AKG. What's the big deal? I and the 70 or so other attendees listened to the whole show via new AKG wireless headphones.

AKG makes highly respected pro gear and they're finally bringing consumer product to the U.S. this spring. The wireless phones we wore, which sounded spectacular with only a couple of minor clips and only a couple of tiny bursts of static, are the K930 (pictured below). Sound is streamed to them via 900 MHz and they'll run for six hours on rechargeable batteries. They'll cost $250 and will come in gloss white or gloss black.
