If a big and noisy traditional generator is ruining all of your fun at those tailgating outings or camping excursions, the future is here to solve that problem. HydroPak is a fuel-cell power generator set to be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show next week.
Toss the motors to the side. The HydroPak utilizes hydrogen-generated electricity by way of water-activated cartridges. Included in the convenient black and yellow box is one standard AC outlet and two USB connections for all of those gadgets and gear.
The HydroPak is the work of Millennium Cell and Horizon Fuel Cell. The two companies are expecting a retail model to be ready this summer for approximately $400, with additional disposable water cartridges tacking on an extra $20 each. For relevance, each cartridge can provide upwards of 10 laptop battery recharges.
