Now that it's looking like Blu-ray has finally and definitively won the high-def format war, it's time to finally give in and invest in some new HD gear. If you've been waiting for a HD camcorder, the new Hitachi DZ-BD9H might be just up your alley, as it has a built-in Blu-ray burner as well as a 60GB hard drive.
Of course, I don't really know why you'd want to burn raw footage to Blu-ray, but you've gotta assume someone is looking for that feature. For about $1,691, you get both the Blu-ray burner and the hard drive, but if you want to drop the discs and just get the hard drive, you'll pay a somewhat-more-reasonable $1,315.

If you are on holiday you can just take a Blu-Ray disk with you and you have 50gb extra if you need it. Is that such a difficult concept to understand?

Actually, its 8cm bluray, so you only get 7.5gb or an hour of footage, unless of course you have multiple bluray discs. That's the only way I see having 50gb of extra storage on disc.
