CES is barely underway, but I can already determine one of the biggest trends of the show, and even the upcoming year, and that is media steaming set-top boxes. SanDisk bestowed the TakeTV a couple months ago and now D-Link is readying theirs for a CES unveiling.
The MediaLounge DPG-1200 is a wireless set-top box that can steam content to a home entertainment system from a PC or laptop. It is compatible with iTunes, YouTube and more. It does support HD goodness up to 30fps at 720p resolution. There is no word on pricing, but it could be a solid media center solution with a low cost.
Now, who else will be unveiling similar simplified media centers at CES? Anyone taking any bets?
