I'm somewhat of a gadget fiend, but what really grinds my gears is when an artist creates a seemingly useful gadget, take this MP3 player and lamp concept for example, and slaps some kind of artsy-fartsy labeling with it. In this case it's "Sound Light." There's no need to put a deep and thoughtful name with this device, just call it what it is—an MP3-playing lamp. There's no need for an artistic approach to naming the device.

As long as the price isn't ridiculous, the idea of an MP3 playing lamp isn't too shabby as long as it includes an alarm clock as well. Dimming the light and music to sleep and slowly brightening the light and music to wake up? Yeah, I could get used to that, rather than having to chase that Clocky every which way.
