CES Sexy: Directed Electronics' Viper for cold mornings and more

ViperLS.jpg
How many times do you do this? You walk away from your car, thinking you’ve hit the locks, but hit it one or two more times to make sure the remote really locked the door. This handy little gizmo takes the worry out of walking away from your car – and it does so much more. Instead of having to see your car flash its lights to ensure it received the signal from your remote, the Viper is a two-way device. LED lights on it, ghost lights, indicate that yes, indeed, the car’s doors are locked. It will also page you if the car has been tampered with. The Viper has one of the best remote starter features we’ve seen. Sure, you can always set up your car so that the A/C or heater will come on when you remotely start the car in the mornings. This device is so much more than that. It will alert you when you have three minutes remaining on the starter timer, asking if you want to continue running the car. Best yet, it will flash a temperature bar of the interior temperature of the car, so you can determine if you need to keep warming it up or cooling it down. This tiny handheld is quite a powerful tool.
