We came across two turntables that let you rip your records to digital media.

Teac's LP-U200, which will be available in March for $300, is a belt-drive turntable and AM/FM radio and can turn tracks on either records or radio to MP3 files to a USB thumb drive or CD, or even rip CDs to a USB thumb drive. Previous Teac dual turntable-MP3 ripper combos only could record to CD.

Once on thumb drive or CD, you now have to transfer your tracks to a PC for syncing with an iPod or whatever. Ion's LP DOCK, also $300, skips the middle man. Instead of CD drive or thumb drive jack, the Ion has an iPod dock so your 20th century analog collection moves directly to your 21st century player.

The belt-drive LP DOCK also has a USB jack for connection to a PC or Mac. Even though you're ripping from a record, Ion's EZ Vinyl Converter 2 (for PC) or EZ Audio Converter (for Mac) includes GraceNote's MusicID technology that analyzes your vinyl and automatically (and to us, magically) retrieves to retrieve album art and track lists. Or, if you're a masochist, enter it yourself using Ion's EZAC.
