This morning LG introduced MPH (Mobile-Pedestrian-Handheld), an in-band mobile DTV technology that provides broadcast quality TV to mobile and handheld devices, even if they're traveling at 140 mph.
Above are prototypes of MPH-embedded systems, including a GPS navigator that also functions as a television, some cell phones that look an awful lot like last year's cell phones, and a MPH-enabled USB antenna.
LG claims that MPH will provide more coverage and more local, time-sensitive content at a lower cost to consumers. A similar technology apparently caught on very quickly in Korea. LG hopes to deubut MPH-enabled devices in the U.S. by February 2009.
