CES 2008 DVICE TV: WAVEscape Hands-on Experience

We've seen technologies like the WAVEscape before — interfaces that can detect your gestures and use them in a video or gaming environment in real time — but we've got to hand it to Samsung for having the cojones to finally use it for its ultimate purpose: punching out virtual pandas. While companies like JVC are using gesture detection for boring, practical things like controlling your TV, only Samsung has the bravery and wisdom to leverage innovation to ensure cute animals get beat down. Watch Vanessa use the WAVEscape to go to town on a couple of panda avatars who were totally asking for it.

Yikes! Vanessa beats on pandas. I think I still like the Wii better.

I really enjoyed Wii boxing, I think I would enjoy this too. I want to become a boxer, but there's no gym in my town, this sucks! Also, I want to box a real bear, just like in Hajime no Ippo, but I want it to survive, and I want to survive too.
