Belkin Washable Mouse makes us a bit queasy

belkin_washable_mouse.jpg

For a lot of us, having grubby hands on a mouse for most of the day is a common occurrence. That can usually result in some dirt and grime, which Belkin is ready to tackle and more. This mouse is completely sealed off. Rather than having a scroll wheel, it has more of a scroll pad. The optical sensor on the bottom is also completely enclose to allow the mouse to be washed easily.

We start to get queasy at the extent some reviewers would take to test this completely washable mouse. Gearlog decided to go above and beyond just washing the mouse. They tried using the mouse while submerged in oatmeal, chili, chocolate pudding and even cheesy poofs. The result? The scroll wheel and buttons continued to work, but the optical sensor was pretty sketchy while trying to be used in the foods. Regardless, after every dunking, the mouse washed off perfectly. The mouse is available for $30.

I can't remember how many times I was clicking away with my mouse and reached over into my gigantic bowl of snack chili along with my mouse. In fact, there was this one time I went to take a bathroom break and... well, you know the rest.
