Belkin has already unveiled the TuneStudio, a four-channel mixing board for garage bands or those on the road who need to record their session on the cheap. Now comes the Belkin Podcast Studio for podcasters recording in the wild.
This recording device is a slimmed-down version of the TuneStudio featuring dual XLR or 1/4-inch inputs, a compressor/limiter, VU meter, and the ability to boost the gain of any mic you attach to the system. The Podcast Studio uses the recording feature of your iPod to capture your yakkity-yakking, but you'll need to offload the audio file if you need to do any editing or to convert it into a MP3 file for worldwide distribution. It's a novel concept for a mere $100, but you'll have to wait until June to nab one. Of course you'll need an iPod to use this device, meaning Zune users are out of luck. I think I'll stick with the H2 from Zoom.
