Scroll through this list and count the number of times you say, "I want that." Open Source Beer? Awesome! This gift guide is chock full of fun and just plain wicked stuff (LEDs on your bike spokes — love it!). Anything here would be great for those wandering and curious minds that are always looking to tweak something new.

2. Uncle Mark Gift Guide & Almanac
I don't know who Uncle Mark is, but he put together a nice gift-guide-manac. It's not an extremely long guide, but where he shines is the execution: It's designed like an old-time almanac. Every gift selection has a significant amount of detail explaining why that item is worthy of being gifted, something a lot of guides lack.

3. Popgadget Technophobe Gift Guide
This guide is chock full of gadgets that would be great for those who are not so technical. Hopefully Grandma won't think the digital picture frames are witchcraft.

4. Gearlog Radio LAST Geek Gift Guide
I'm not sure how Gearlog's guide is the "last," but it still deserves mention here. Gearlog has managed to stand out from the usual array of holiday gift guides by making a podcast out of theirs. Listening to someone talk about gadgets you should buy your loved ones isn't necessarily as good as reading a list, but at least it is different, and you can do it on the train.

5. Xbox 360 Gaming Gear Gift Guide
This is the have-to-read guide while shopping for that Xbox 360 fan. I consider myself a pretty diehard fan of the 360 and there were gadgets on this list I hadn't heard of or seen.

6. Fortune Small Business Gift Guide
The folks at Fortune may seem like a group of old geezers, but they can still throw down a unique and interesting gift guide. This one is full of gifts available from small businesses across the globe. Damn the man, save the small business!

7. Ars Technica 2007 Hardware Gift Guide
Very cool, really hardcore tech gift guide. People-that-build-their-own-computers hardcore.

8. Kotaku's 2007 Gift Guide of Obscene Nicety and Sublime Naughtyness
Whether it's your significant other, niece, nephew or minister, there are always folks that love video games. Giving a game to those folks can be pretty boring, and nowadays it's more expensive than most are willing to spend. Kotaku pieced together a list of a lot of gamer-related gear that isn't just video games.

9. CNET Holiday Gift Guide
This is the big Kahuna of holiday gift guides. It categorizes the gifts in a million different ways, but what really makes this guide shine is the individual product pages, which follow CNET's traditional format of providing "The Good," "The Bad" and "The Bottom Line," which are essential and easy points to read and follow when choosing a product.

10. Popular Science Holiday Gift Guide for Geeks by Geeks
Rather than Joe Schmo blogger rattling off what he or she wants for the holidays, Popular Science talked to 15 of the biggest tech personalities on the Internet to find out what they wanted. The iPhone and Kindle made multiple appearances, but there were some not-so-common items like a 3D CAD printer.

Well done Yahoo. You've created a comprehensive guide with no less than 20 categories, including five celebrity wish lists. (Jennifer Love Hewitt wants a Clapper? Not a great time to get lazy, Love).

12. PC World 2008 Gift Guide
PC World's gift guide is simple, which makes it fantastic. Everything is broken down into several categories, with the highest ranked gadget on top. Sure, it may lack a lot of the unique gifts, but it is a solid go-to source for traditional tech gifts.

13. Engadget Holiday Gift Guide
This is a general gadget gift guide broken down into categories (For: him, her, son, daughter, dad, etc.) and then broken down by price within. The easy-to-read layout and big pictures are a bonus.

14. The Globe and Mail Tech Gift Guide
Any gift guide that mentions Lego Mindstorm NXT is worthy of a list in our book.

15. Bluetooth Gift Guide
Developed by Bluetooth Special Interest Group, this guide does a good job highlighting wireless gifts. It's not just limited to Bluetooth headsets, either. This guide is great for those that despise clutter.

Like your gadgets pink and cute? This is the guide for you!

17. Core77 Design Gifts Under $77
This guide is chock full of weirdly cool gifts (like wrenchware, which combines silverware with common tools), all of which fall below the $77 mark, which could be convenient for those who set a $77 price limit on gifts.

This guide is chock full of design-y gifts. It gets bonus props for being pretty and easily navigated.

A wide variety of automotive-related gadgets. One warning: the Booze Cruise remote-control car cup holder may not be the best of gifts for Uncle Harry, who's still on probation.

30. Men's Health TechGuide 2008
This isn't necessarily a "gift guide" per say, but it is one of the best guides out there, overall. It has 93 of the greatest tech products. The entire guide is visually pleasing to navigate and read through. Each product has a nice description to read through as well. My credit card is hating me as I read this guide and let the charges fly.

31. Music Thing 'Price no Object' Gift Guide
Audiophiles can be a picky bunch of people, but Music Thing has done a great job rounding up some of the best music-related gear. This guide doesn't set a price limit, so watch out before pulling out the credit card — a $1,400 synthesizer is a bit much, even for the closest of friends.

32. The New York Times Critics' Picks Gift Guide
A big, robust guide with a clever technology section; it has unique categories like "Gifts Ideas That Find Themselves" (GPSes) and "Flash Drives in Places You'd Least Expect."

This guide has some general consumer electronics, but it also has a lot of tech toys that could be fun for the whole family.

This one has 11 categories and was compiled by a bunch of well-known tech bloggers out there. Good stuff, but a little bit of a hodgepodge.

This is one of the more functional cellphone gift guides because it breaks up the categories by age group and then by carrier, which makes it easy to narrow down the selection.

41. Dave Barry's Holiday Gift Guide
This is always a favorite of mine around the holiday. It's a humorous guide with plenty of odd gadgets and gifts. Easily the most twisted is the fake breathing puppy.

42. Boston Herald Gift Guide
The Boston Herald's electronics gift guide has knocked my socks off by proving there is no god and placing a Barbie MP3 player onto the list.

43. Philadelphia Inquirer Gift Guide
This is one of the better gift guides by a newspaper. It has a lot of items in a lot of specific categories (Traveler category: " Oversleep? Not a chance!"), each containing niche gadgets.

44. iVilliage Gadget Gift Guide
Written for women by women, this guide gets props because it has tips for technophobes shopping for gadget lovers, and includes the oldie-but-goodie Nabaztag Wi-Fi rabbit.

45. I4U Best Holiday Gifts from Her to Him
This guide looks like it was slapped together pretty quickly with the tiniest pictures we've ever seen on the Web. However they had enough taste to include the 8-Bit tie so we think it's worth a (quick) peek.

46. Official Apple Gift Guide
Surprisingly, not all Apple stuff! Good spot to find something for that hard-to-please iPod junkie.

47. Steve Skojec's Christmas Gadget Gift Guide
I'm not sure who exactly Steve is, but I'm impressed with his dedication. He wrote almost 3,000 words about five pretty generic gadgets. Check it out for all of the info you can handle about the Nikon D40, Wii, iPod Touch, Garmin Nuvi 660 and Airhogs helicopters — all great gifts, of course.

48. Cool Yule Tools
Cool Yule Tools wins in my book because it isn't named "Site Name Gift Guide 2007" like the other 100 gift guides. Some nice gear as well, like Belkin's wireless USB hub. Bonus: the entries load very fast.

49. Inhabitat Gift Guide
A guide full of truly green gadgets, not just fake green gadgets given for the sake of being green. The things on the list really help.

50. Coolmompicks Gift Guide
A guide from moms, for moms, on what to buy the kids. My favorite pick? The Daisy Pink Electric Guitar Starter Kit. Rock on!

51. Digihear FutureMusic Gift Guide
This guide won a place in my heart for its attention to two categories — music and the future. Digihear's FutureMusic guide has a wide array of gadgets for the music lover, but the special catch is that a lot of these gadgets have a unique twist ("Gift For Your Friendly, Neighborhood Rapper," anyone?)

52. Laptop Mag Gadget Gift Guide
Laptop's guide is categorized a couple different ways, which is always nice for trying to shop for the unshoppable. Don't be scared, it's not all laptops. Not even 20% laptops, really.

53. TV Guide's Holiday Gadget Gift Guide
If TV Guide recommends a gadget, then you can get it's a great gadget for TV lovers. TiVo HD, the iPod Nano, and Blu-ray will all help you get the most out of video.

54. Gonzo Holiday Gear Guide
Photographers are a particular bunch around holiday gift-giving time. They obviously already own every accessory for that Digital Rebel or D40, but much to the surprise of loved ones, there are actually gifts out there for that photog. This guide has them.

55. Coding4Fun Holiday Gift Guide
While that code monkey may be at his laptop through most of the holiday dinners, that doesn't mean they need to be neglected for gifts. This guide has some odd and fun gifts that only a coder could love.

This guide had me at hello by including many of my personal favorites like the Gorillapod, Lego Mindstorms, Griffin Evolve speakers and Nike Amp.

64. Gearlive Tech Gift Guide
Gearlive's guide gets noticed because it decided to include some shaving gadgets. Shaving technology has come a long way since the days of leather straps and razer blades.

65. ComputerWorld Bling Gift Guide
Just how "bilng" can ComputerWorld be? Bling enough to know some gadgets that look good and can make you look good. It is also the highest spotting of the Motorola ROKR sunglasses to date.

66. Xtremetech Geek Gift Guide
Xtremetech's gadget gift guide has some fun stuff like WowWee's Flytech R/C dragonfly as well as some great books for techies.

This website's name holds true. Its gift guide is pretty random, but it does shine a bit by including lots of links for the included gadgets. There's even a section for eBay.

Gutsy move to include an A/V receiver on a gift list, but there's lots of affordable stuff here, too, like great computer speakers.

This guide has a lot of nice but esoteric categories. For instance, it's probably the only guide on the net to have a "Gifts for a female niece" category, which a lot of people have to deal with.

Terry White's technology gift guide has been live since October 25. And it's still good — lots of great gadgets, most under $100.

The lack of pictures on this guide is irritating, but it compensates with a nice, easy-to-read layout quickly saying the product, manufacturer, price and link. Includes some surprises like massage cushions and useful organizational software.

A $25,000 video game driving simulator? At that point you should just buy your loved one a new car that they can drive the hell out of.

Maybe it's just me, but if a gift guide is going to be called a "Must Have," then they shouldn't have four different types of MP3 players on the list. Nobody needs four MP3 players.

MSNBC Head-Start Holiday Gift Guide
It's the holidays: Everyone is stressed, everyone is easily annoyed and agitated. Don't make us read a novel, MSNBC. Take a hint — more pictures and less words please.

BET Holiday Gift Guide
This one takes the cake for the worst holiday gift guide, easily. First, it has the wrong picture for the Verizon Juke, which is actually the Samsung Juke. Second, "Sony Vaio" and "Canon Powershot" are not specific products. (Are you recommending the entire line of Vaio laptops and Powershot cameras?) Lastly, the final entry is simply Digital Picture Frames. There is no brand, no details on a specific model, just "Digital Picture Frames." Thanks, BET… thanks for coming out.
