The Intelligent Lantern isn't labeled as such because it'll solve the hardest riddles told around the campfire, but rather its design is pretty damn clever. It does what a lantern should, with lights powerful enough to be seen from a mile away, and both light trays are fully articulate so you can position them to shine wherever needed. The intelligent part is in the details: the Intelligent Lantern also features a jack to plug in your MP3 player, speakers, a digital clock and an AM/FM radio tied to local weatherbands. That eliminates quite a bit of clutter that would normally junk up your backpack individually.
The Intelligent Lantern is only $40, too. If only I actually enjoyed camping.
