Sony's wind-up camera gets recharged by hand

windupcamera.jpg

Sony's showing off a prototype camera they've designed dubbed the "Twirl n Take." It's unique because it's rechargeable by winding a crank on the camera's body. Simply wind it up for 15 seconds to give it enough juice to take some more snaps.

Unfortunately, due to the low power consumption necessary in a rechargeable device like this, there's no LCD screen on it, so you won't be able to see how your pictures turned out until you upload them to your computer. Oh well, it's just a prototype, so there are no plans to produce it for consumers, so you don't have to worry about it anyways.
