Signs of the apocalypse: Designer LaCie hard drives

hd_hddesignbyneilpoulton_1.jpg

First it was the cellphone industry and now portable storage? LaCie has gotten involved with designers as of late for collaboration on unique external hard drives that look and feel a little bit classier than external hard drives of years past. What's next, designer RAM? I wouldn't be surprised.

This drive is the brainchild of Neil Poulton, a designer from over the pond. It is an all-black glossy case with a blue LED light to give it a little pizzazz. It is available in capacities from 320 GB up to 1 TB of storage and prices begin at $120. Too bad it will clash with every Mac product. What a faux pas, LaCie!
