School Zone crosswalk a better speed bump than crossing guards

School-Zone-Seungkyun-Woo.jpg

Just because you traverse a road using a crosswalk, that doesn't mean you aren't in harms way. The School Zone crosswalk system tries to improve on the way we walk out into traffic. It sports a raised surface so pint-sized kids will be easily visible to cars (and provides a bump to deter speeding), and the LED lights easily direct foot traffic and let walkers know when time is running out.

The School Zone wouldn't only be deployed where its name suggests, however. It could be manufactured as a portable slab that would be handy wherever large amounts of people need to be moved around.

The School Zone crosswalk is a design by Seungkyun Woo.
