You know how you will see movies like Minority Report and always wonder when and if the technology used will be really available? Yeah, O'Neill has kind of done that, but backwards with the recently announced Navjacket.
This jacket include a GPS module that can track where you are skiing/snowboarding/hiking. The futuristic part is the flexible display integrated into the sleeve of the jacket. This display is supposedly capable of guiding you through the mountains to a specific destination. We've been watching companies come out with flexible OLED display prototypes that could be used for this same kind of application, and now O'Neill has come out of nowhere with an actual production model. Peculiar, perhaps?
The jacket also has headphones in the hood. The GPS module will actually give direction through the headphones, while additionally providing details about weather, speed, distance and time traveled and more. The entire jacket can be used with a cellphone to provide "3D views of the resorts as well as points of interest."
Lastly, the jacket also has the uncanny ability to find your friends, and give directions how to find them on the slopes. This jacket will supposedly be available in next year's fall and winter collection, but my eyebrows are still raised questioning this magical product and everything it is capable of.

We have usuable technology that can make everyday better and safer for us all > and especially our children. Not having to worry about finding them
wherever they are. Certainly make it harder for abductors to take someone if they were chipped. Technology is something to embrace not fear.
