Standard tablets are great for graphic designers and artists who hate being forced to use a mouse for their on-screen drawing. By giving them a pen, it gives them the freedom to draw as they learned to. But there's still a disconnect, as they draw on one surface and see the results on another (the screen). Not so with these slick, high-end Wacom Cintiq tablets.
That's because these tablets have screens built into them, allowing you to see the results of your doodling right on the tablet itself. Sure, having a peripheral with a screen on it isn't going to be cheap, but if you work in the visual arts I'm sure you're drooling and looking for change between your couch cushions already. The 12-inch 12WX will set you back $1,000, while the 20-inch 20WSX costs a serious $2,000.
