New tech keeps robots on their feet when pushed and shoved

robot_wont_fall_down.jpg

Here's a bit of robotic technology that our poor friend Pleo probably wishes he was designed with: the ability to take the pushing and shoving of a bully without falling down.

Developed by researchers at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Japan, the software that allows robots to stand up to bullies has them adapt to pushing and shoving like people do, able to shift their weight to avoid falling over. Maybe in your next model, Pleo.
