It's been in the works for years, but design Paul Wessel has finally gotten Nintendo to buy into his diabetes games that uses real blood and a glucose-level detector. The premise for the device and game is fairly simple and targeted to children with diabetes, although I'm sure adults could enjoy it as well. The GameBoy Advance cartridge is also acts as a glucose self-diagnosis device. Blood tainted strips are placed into the cartridge while the GameBoy is on and the player is rewarded with points for regular and correct glucose levels. It is currently selling in Austrailia-only for $260, but at the rate kids are getting diabetes these days it should be stateside in no time.
