Some South Korean scientists with experience with cloning have created a genetically engineered cat that glows in the dark. Yes, it's creepy. How'd they do it?

To clone the cats, Kong's team used skin cells of the mother cat. They modified its genes to make them fluorescent by using a virus, which was transplanted into the ova. The ova were then implanted into the womb of the donor cat. Four kittens were born but two died during the caesarean section.

It's all very high tech, but rest assured this wasn't just done to create expensive, designer cats. This research will help them figure out how to help cure human diseases using genetics, which I think we can all agree is a lot cooler than a radioactive cat. Well, at least a little cooler.
