Fancy audio servers have ugly "designs," high price tags

opus_n5.jpg
Some people want their home theater components to look classy and uniform, looking like the fashionable pieces of technology that they are without standing out and drawing too much attention to themselves. That's why almost every component out there comes in one color: black. It just makes sense.

Making less sense are these Olive Opus No. 5 Karim Rashid edition components. They come in all sorts of ugly designs that look like they'd be better placed on a silk shirt in the 70s rather than on a digital audio server. Beyond the ugly cases, these things are expensive ($4,000!)servers with hard drives for holding your music and distributing it around your house. There are cheaper, less ugly ways to do this, I assure you.
