Etree el lamp could be a ghouly, lazy Christmas tree

etree_electroluminescent_lamp.jpg

If you're still stuck in that Halloween mindset and looking to let that drift into the holiday season, the Etree may be the perfect replacement for the plain old Christmas tree this holiday season. This floor standing lamp has 10 aqua-colored electroluminescent strands. Each strand can be bent into any shape, therefore giving the opportunity to design a big, beautiful, and somewhat creepy Christmas tree out of this lamp.

One of the highlights of this odd design is that it is actually available for purchase from the Kinetica Design Museum! So many of the awesome products we post about are just idea in the minds of design students, but not today. The floor standing lamp has a price of $2,000 and a smaller, five branch table version goes for $745.
