DoCoMo FOMA F801i focuses on child safety

DoCoMo-Fujitsu-F801i-kids.jpg

NTT DoCoMo turns its attention to pint-sized cell phone users with the FOMA F801i 3G cell phone and accompanying wristband. The F801i has an alarm which, once activated, will alert anyone in the vicinity by way of 100 decibel alternating sirens and bright flashing LEDs. It will also keep any authorized people aware of the activation of the alarm, the kid's location at all times (including a button that will automatically text the child's position to a registered phone), and turn the phone on if it's been shut off — so your young one will never be able to miss those oh so embarrassing important calls from you.

The wristband acts as a remote control for the phone and will also lock it down if child and phone stray too far away from one another. If the F801i is ever misplaced, kids can use the wristband to make it beep so it's easy to find.

Kashiwa Sato designed the phone-and-amulet combo with small hands and smooth, harmless curves in mind. The DoCoMo FOMA F801i is due out in Japan on December 20th.
