We could scarcely believe it ourselves, but Batter Blaster is a real product, and the company that makes it was kind enough to send us a sample can for testing.
The good news is that it works. If you spray Batter Blaster batter onto a hot greased pan, you will get pancakes. The first bite of pancake was surprisingly delicious. But the second bite was disconcertingly salty, and after a few more bites we had a bad, chemical aftertaste in our mouths that lasted for hours. We also got a stomachache and didn't really want dinner.
As lifelong Reddi-Whip lovers, we're not too snobby to eat food that comes out of a spray can. But something about this combination of whole-wheat flour, egg solids, and rice bran extract made us queasy.
If you're really lazy and don't like messes in your house, we recommend frozen waffles as a Batter Blaster alternative. Then you won't even have to clean a pan! Or, if you're a little less lazy, use Bisquick.

Pancakes in a can.It seem like a great idea. I wonder do you have to shake the can,in order to get great tasting pancakes each time?
By racer17 at 7:54 AM ON 12/20/07
Seems a bit over the top.. Making a good pancake yourself is no problem with current mixes or use the packaged waffles.

Don't forget there are packaged pancakes too!! Toaster, plate, breakfast, Yumm! No pan to clean!!!

1. What hunk? I wanna see!!!
2. It takes less than 5 minutes to make the batter from scratch!
3. Reddi-Whip party! Anyone?

Ooooh please. U R an idiot. It is clear that some folks just like to complain!!! This product is amazing and your mean butt went went out of your way to make them look nasty. In real life you must be a sad lonely person. Don't blame the product for that. I make great pancakes and gave up my own cooking for this product. I so sorry you're such a depressed person. Try to find some good in life honey. Happy holidays.

Cast iron pan. Heat. Butter in pan. Wipe away excess butter. Hint of smoke. Shake can. Invert can. Spray. Cook. Flip once when ready. Do not pat. Remove to plate. Top (butter? syrup? whatever). Eat. Yum!
Is expensive per cake compared to scratch or dry mix; is eco-hostile what with can and all, but is yummy, as mess-free as cooking pancakes yourself can get, and fun!
