Wind Shade Roof offers an oasis of energy

Wind-shade-roof-top.jpg

The Wind Shade Roof is a structure decked out with a bevy of wind turbines to power whatever it houses in climes where conventional energy can be hard to supply. Architect Michael Jantzen designed the structure to be able to operate without messing with the environment it's placed into.

In the concept rendering above, the Wind Shade Roof is shown over a pool. If all goes well, the structure should be able to keep everything up and running — from some pleasant air conditioning during the day to lights at night, and water pumping, poolside bar refrigeration and what have you. All the usual comforts.

The Wind Shade Roof is just a concept at this time, but it's a new entry in the green designs Jantzen has cooked up. Check out the gallery below for additional pictures, and his site to see some of his other eco-friendly designs.
