University of South Australia researchers Bruce Thomas is solving an age old problem with a high-tech solution. For example, always wearing a particular suit to one specific client meeting, or a favorite shirt and necklace on every date. This smart closet has a touchscreen on the outside that keeps track of all facets of your wardrobe — including when you wear a wardrobe, what situation it was worn to, what accessories were worn and more.
It keeps tracks of your duds with a cloth hanging rail and conductive and personalized hangers. Each hanger is designated with a particular garment and it documents what is worn when the hanger is taken out of the closet. Other features include automatic dry-clean notification and Internet connectivity to access a "fashion butler." Like most design projects, there isn't any plans to take this into the retail market.
