Suekichi Japanese steampunk watches unveiled for fancy pants geeks

suekichiwatch1.jpg
Is it a prop from the set of Dr. Who? Perhaps a wrist version of H.G. Wells' Time Machine? No, it's a real working steampunk style watch created by none other than Japan's Haruo Suekichi. The watch shown has been dubbed the Pack Man, but Suekichi has created thousands of steampunk watches over the years from his tiny Suekichi Factory studio in Tokyo. According to a recent interview, Suekichi would like to offer his work from an American shop but has no immediate plans to sell globally beyond Internet sales. These watches from a could-have-been future generally sell for around 10,000 yen ($90) here.
