Those lousy routers you pick up at most electronics stores tend not to give you much freedom to surf the Web while sitting on your patio, let alone move around from room to room without dropping the signal. The Extreme Range Wi-Fi Router promises to solve that problem, and allow everyone for a quarter-mile to ride your broadband coattails.

The router blasts a Wi-Fi signal at 30dBm, the most powerful signal allowed by the Federal Communications Commission. If you live on a 30-acre ranch, you'll have no problem connecting to the Net with your 802.11b or 802.11g devices (no 802.11n yet). However if you aren't a major land owner, the Extreme Range Wi-Fi Router supports WEP, VPN-Passthrough, and WPA encryption to keep nosy neighbors off your network. Wireless freedom doesn't come cheap, the Extreme Range Wi-Fi Router will set you back $285.
