MIT multigadget changes functions depending on how its held

barofsoap.jpg
The smart guys over at MIT are at it again, this time developing a cool "Bar of Soap" multigadget that changes its function depending on how its held. For example, if you hold it upright, it acts as a phone. If you hold it like a camera, it'll act like one. You get the idea.

It's a really cool idea, although I'm not sure how accurate it could determine what I wanted it to do based solely on how I was holding it. Sure, I hold a phone to my ear, but how does it know I'm dialing and not looking through music when I hold it in my palm? In any case, it's a neat idea, one that, with some more work, could just make its way into some consumer gadgets.
