Japan's newest housework robot will serve you, maybe kill you

houseworkrobot.jpgThe ultimate goal of our society, it seems, is to eventually be served by robot slaves who will make our lives full of leisure. I mean, some people will still need to work to make the robots and keep them operational, obviously, but more and more manual labor will be done by unthinking, mechanical beasts.

And we're well on our way! Just take a gander at this hulking housework robot recently unveiled in Japan. Standing at 4'10", which is tall enough to seem like a person but short enough to seem unthreatening, it can do things like make you breakfast and serve it to you. We're still a few years off from that dream of ours, however, as this guy isn't expected to be ready for prime time until 2015.

There will be so many safe guards built into the robot that they will be safer then owning dogs and cats.
