Completely useful, realistic fake window won't help your social life one bit

brightblind.jpg

I am more than happy with my windowless existence in a dark basement that may or may not belong to my parents, but for those that are having a harder time convincing themselves that not leaving the house isn't so bad, here is a fake window that gives some light to the anti-social life of ours. It gives the feeling of the outside, dark and scary world traditionally reserved for socialites and others with cojones.

This fake window goes by the name of Bright Blind and is the work of two Japanese designers. Electroluminescent sheets provide the backlighting and simulated daylight. Like real windows and shades, the twisty plastic bar (what is the official name of that thing anyway?) controls the amount of light emitted. Click below to see a video of the conceptual Bright Blind in action.
