UK government opens the door to animal/human hybrid research

Look out: science is about to get crazy. The UK government is rethinking their laws on hybrid embryos, possibly allowing for experiments on human/animal hybrids if approved by regulators. Yes, in the near future people might be creating half-man/half-tigers or something like that.
Well, not really. In reality, they're talking about 99.9% human embryos with animal genes spliced in to provide immunity to diseases and things of that nature, although it does open the door to more extreme experimentation. And despite how much we might want it, there isn't going to be any work done on mixing our genes with fish to give us gills or anything like that in the near future. But eventually, my friends. Eventually.
