TiVo HD and Series 3 owners, listen up — your TiVo experience just got a heck of a lot better thanks to a few much needed upgrades.

Firstly, no more dirty hacks are required to boost the capacity of the TiVo hard drive. HD and Series3 now supports an external USB eSATA hard drive for extended storage. Currently the only "TiVo Verified" external drive is the 500 GB Western Digital My DVR Expander that retails for $200.

The second, more minor upgrade allows for video transfers to be made between TiVo units. Still nice for households looking for that option.

The third, and debatably most exciting announcement is the TiVoToGo for HD and Series 3 units. TiVoToGo allows for TiVo content to be transferred from the TiVo to a computer, including HD content. Now all of that great content on your TiVo can easily be loaded onto a portable media player and taken on the road. Hooray! — Travis Hudson
