TI-Nspire graphing calculator has swappable keys for the old souls

ti_nspire.jpgMeet the TI-Nspire — Texas Instruments' latest graphing calculator. This one is a tad different that the TI-xx's of years past because it includes a brand spanking new layout chock full of real keys, miniature nub keys between the real keys and even a circular dial.

Are you excited about the new way you will be experience algebra? Worried that your teacher may not approve? Don't worry because the TI-Nspire has quite the identity crisis. It includes a faceplate that can be easily swapped in replacing the new layout with one of year's past — specifically from the TI-84 Plus layout. I may have been removed from high school for quite some time, but the additional keypad is for those stingy teachers that require all students to have the same type of calculator, or for the text books that are written for the TI-84-style of graphing calculator. Not a bad idea TI, and I applaud your effort to transform your previously uniform line of graphing calculators while not screwing over early adopters or the old soul teachers who still prefer the TI-84. The TI-Nspire is available for $140.
