Planet speakers so the whole world can hear

planets1.jpg

Okay, so maybe the Planet speakers by Urban Fidelity won't be heard by the whole world, but they are designed to bring 360-degrees of sound to your home theater. The idea is simple; the speakers fire up at the chrome sphere to create an omni-directional spread of sound. Sounds simple enough that any fool could do the same thing, but there is some physics involved that may be above the normal person's head.

Designed by Markus Duevel these specially crafted metal balls are positioned above each speaker to precisely match the driver of the system that give the Planets the perfect distribution pattern to be heard by everyone in the room. Urban Fidelity further makes the claim that there are no plastic parts in these speakers, which probably explains why these suckers are going to set the audiophile back $1,295 per pair (add an extra $100 if you want them in gunmetal, blue, or green). It's good to know these aren't the only speakers to part a fool with his money.
